WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, September 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) joined law enforcement officers, families, and communities in New York City, Washington, D.C., and around the country last week to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and honor those who lost their lives, those who answered the call, and those who continue to live with the lasting effects of that day.
On September 10, FLEOA members gathered at the Fort Hamilton Officers Club in Brooklyn, New York, for a 9/11 remembrance event sponsored by FLEOA Chapters 1, 2, and 3. The ceremony brought together members of the law enforcement community to remember the lives lost and recognize the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who rushed toward danger as the attacks unfolded.
The following day, FLEOA representatives participated in the 2026 9/11 Ceremony at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. The ceremony marked the 25th anniversary of the attacks and honored law enforcement officers and other first responders who served and protected their communities in the aftermath of September 11.
Additionally, many FLEOA Chapters held commemorative ceremonies around the country to honor our fallen heroes.

The Washington ceremony was held at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and sponsored by the Police Unity Tour and the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Foundation.
For FLEOA and its members, the anniversary remains more than a date on the calendar. It is an enduring reminder of the bravery displayed by first responders on September 11, the sacrifices made in the years that followed, and the responsibility carried by today’s law enforcement officers to continue serving their communities with courage and dedication.
Twenty-five years later, FLEOA remains committed to ensuring that the fallen, the survivors, and the countless men and women who answered the call are never forgotten.
