West Shore Home, one of the fastest-growing home remodeling companies in the United States, has acquired Atlas Home Improvement, LLC, a second-generation, family-owned home improvement company headquartered in Whitmore Lake, Michigan. The move extends West Shore Home’s Michigan presence beyond its existing Grand Rapids operation into metro Detroit, the nation’s 14th-largest metropolitan area, and adds more than 50 team members.
Founded in 1989 by David Bobby, Atlas Home Improvement has earned homeowners’ trust across southeast Michigan for nearly four decades. The company, led today by David Bobby and his son, Darian Bobby, operates from a 23,200-square-foot facility in Whitmore Lake, between Ann Arbor and Detroit. Bath and shower remodeling accounts for most of Atlas’s business and is also West Shore Home’s largest service category. Additionally, Atlas operates the same direct-to-consumer, in-home sales and professional installation model that West Shore Home runs nationally, making the two companies a natural fit.
Michigan’s housing stock is among the oldest in the country, with a median home age of 53 years, eight years above the national median. Roughly 60% of the state’s occupied homes were built in or before the 1970s. That aging inventory drives consistent demand for the bath remodeling and replacement window services West Shore Home delivers.

The founding family is stepping away from day-to-day ownership, but Atlas’s experienced leadership team is expected to remain in place to anchor growth across the region.
