Jackson Hole Guides Aim to Turn Visitors into Wildlife Stewards

Wildlife Education Framed as a Path to Long-Term Conservation in Greater Yellowstone

Jackson, United States – May 21, 2026 / Teton Expeditions /

JACKSON HOLE, WY – Teton Expeditions is relaunching in Jackson Hole with a focused purpose at the heart of its new chapter: families should not simply visit Grand Teton and Yellowstone – they should experience both parks side by side.

Re-founded by Jeff Tibbitts and Evan Toal, Teton Expeditions draws on more than 50 combined years of guiding, outfitting, and wildlife interpretation across the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem. The company operates in a new form today, but its origins trace back to the 1970s, when David Tibbitts helped define a guiding philosophy grounded in knowledge, humility, patience, and genuine respect for the land.

David Tibbitts was Jeff’s father – and one of the first people to show both Jeff and Evan what guiding could look like when it was approached with care. Not as a transaction. Not as a checklist. But as a sincere effort to help people understand and connect with a place.

“We know what it looks like when this is done right,” said co-founder Evan Toal. “We built this company around that vision.”

Teton Expeditions offers half-day and full-day guided wildlife tours of Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, with pickup and drop-off available throughout the Jackson Hole area. Tours are designed for small groups, families, multi-generational travelers, and guests who want a more personal way to explore the parks.

The company’s guiding message, “See It Together,” reflects the kind of experience Teton Expeditions is built to deliver. A child seeing a moose for the first time. Grandparents watching bison move across an open valley. Parents taking a moment to understand what they are actually looking at. The goal extends beyond pointing out wildlife – it is about creating a shared memory that stays with an entire family long after the trip ends.

“The parks are for everyone,” said co-founder Jeff Tibbitts. “But not everyone experiences them the same way. We want families, older travelers, and first-time visitors to feel comfortable, curious, and included from the moment they step into the vehicle.”

That guest-first approach shapes every element of how tours are run. The pace is deliberate. Questions are welcomed. Guides are chosen not only for their depth of knowledge, but for character, patience, and the ability to engage guests across different ages and backgrounds. Many come from fields including natural history, science education, outdoor leadership, and wildlife interpretation.

For families, that means the natural world is made accessible to every age in the group. For older travelers, it means no rushed schedules, no crowded buses, and no sense that asking a question or moving at a slower pace is unwelcome. Each tour is built around connection – to the landscape, to the wildlife, to the guide, and to the people sharing the experience.

The Greater Yellowstone ecosystem ranks among the most significant wild landscapes in North America. Grizzly bears, wolves, bison, elk, moose, pronghorn, eagles, and a wide range of other species inhabit a region shaped by geology, conservation history, seasonal migration, and generations of land stewardship. Teton Expeditions is focused on helping guests understand that broader story.

“Every family that spends a day in the parks with one of our guides is a potential steward,” Tibbitts said. “Every kid who sees a moose cross a river for the first time is a future advocate. That is what this is really about.”

Teton Expeditions is currently accepting bookings for the 2026 season. Half-day and full-day wildlife tours are available for Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Private tours and group rates are offered for families, multi-generational travel parties, and special occasions.

New focus. Right people. Fifty years in the making.
