Effective Monday, August 10, 2026, Co-CEO Matt Organ will voluntarily transition from his co-executive role to serve as Executive Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer.
This strategic evolution comes after 45 years of distinguished service by Organ, who initiated the transition plan to establish a clear succession pathway while ensuring that the organization retains his deep institutional knowledge, donor relationships, and community presence.
Under the plan, Chris Gentile, currently serving as Co-CEO, will assume the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, overseeing day-to-day operations, management, and strategic execution—providing unified operational direction. During his 11-year tenure with the organization, Gentile’s passion, commitment and leadership have directly contributed to BGCBG Club Kids and programs receiving top recognition in the Nation. His appointment reflects the organization’s confidence in his leadership, vision, and ability to build upon the strong foundation established over the years. Chris will lead the organization into its next chapter.
In his new capacity as Executive Advisor, Organ will focus exclusively on strategic, high-impact areas where his four decades of experience will yield the greatest return: major gift fundraising, community and external relations, municipal partnerships, and executive mentorship. By decoupling executive operational management from strategic advocacy and donor development, the transition ensures that BGCBC maintains strong fundraising momentum, protects critical public-private partnerships, and enhances leadership continuity without any interruption to programs or services.
